Courtney Collins is a writer and producer who has spent the past five years living and working in south east Arnhem Land. Recently, she relocated to the Bellingen area. In 2017, she started Ngukurr Story Projects to support local Indigenous people to tell the stories they wanted to tell, in the languages they wanted to tell them in. Her first novel, The Burial (Allen & Unwin), was shortlisted for numerous prizes including the NSW Premier’s Award for New Fiction and The Stella Prize. It has since been published in ten countries and is currently being developed as feature film with the support of Screen Australia. She is a PhD student and at work on a new novel.
