Kathryn Hore is a Melbourne writer of dark and speculative fiction. Her short stories have crossed genres ranging from science fiction to crime to horror to gothic romance, and her first novel, The Wildcard, published by IFWG Australia, is a twist-filled thriller about games taken too far.
The Stranger is her second novel, published by Allen & Unwin in 2022, and is a dystopian, feminist western which has been described as “original, unflinching, gritty and visionary”, and “a wild and glorious ride”.
When not writing, Kathryn is an archivist and recordkeeper in the university sector. She lives with her partner and children among the gumtrees on the outskirts of Melbourne.
