Tasmanian born Illustrator and Author Penelope Pratley has been drawing and mucking about with paint for as long as she can remember, starting with a spontaneous mural in red lipstick at the age of three on her Nan’s bedroom wall. Penelope worked as a fairy before waving her wand to become an Art teacher. With a Bachelor of Fine Art and Bachelor of Teaching she has a genuine rapport with children and students of all ages and has taught preschool to year 12.
Drawing and painting using watercolour, ink, pencil, acrylic, and mixed media Penelope loves to illustrate books that inspire children to find their place in the world. When she’s not illustrating in her Art Shed, or munching chocolate freckles, you can find her in a cosy nook with her nose in a book.
