Jason John’s performances channel a love child of Dr Seuss and Pam Ayres, who was adopted out to a scientist and an emotionally repressed priest. The rest of the time he is an emotionally repressed priest, with a background in science, and a job in neither.
Jason will be performing with Boy Renaissance on the night. Combining poetry, beatbox and drama, Boy Renaissance is an Australia-based spoken word poet and performance artist. Their work is acclaimed for its courage, honesty, electricity and penny-drop presence, and known for its exploration of gender, faith and sexuality. They have been dubbed the ‘most exciting young performance poet in Australia today’, and spend their days tagging the streets in chalk with their work, and creating cutting-edge performance art for film and theatre.
