Alisa Bryce is a writer and soil scientist with a BSc in agriculture from the University of Sydney and a Masters from the University of Cambridge. She splits her time between science writing, ignoring her overgrown garden, and working on her next book.
In 2015, a publisher told Alisa that no-one would ever publish a book about soil because it is too boring. In 2022, Alisa sent said publisher a copy of Grounded: how soil shapes the games we play, the lives we make and the graves we lie in.
